Charlotte's colleagues were an architect(self), engineer, builder, technician and a specialist in the pre-fabrication of plastic. Charlotte wanted the firm to specialize in pre-fabrication of materials such as plastic and also focus on the repetition of a shape to be used to create structures.

Hamish's building was at the opposite front of the Vector Arena. He went in to the theme of gathering as a place to discuss/share/gain ideas.

April's project was a plant store. Her store had walls cutted out in a plants shape to show this idea. In her project she wanted a fluid form for her stall walls to be fluid because she wanted those who walked inside to be engulfed and surrounded by an array of aromas and sights, and to visually capture how these scents rotate and move around and across the space.

Amy's project was a book store. Her main idea was looking at the layers of pages and looking at block text and to show this she had holes square holes in her book store. also her ceiling had this texture to show this idea as well as for some natural lighting. In her store the whole place was a place for book.

Aaron's project was a art gallery. His building's design was a inpired from an artwork from an artist Piet Mondrian. This made his building shape to be a solid and gave this interesting where it touches at the edge.

His project of 1:1 model was a installation which sits on the tree. the installation was done with light the fabric material for it to sit on the tree well. The idea of his project was to protect people from something dropping off from the sky eg. rain and provides shelter and cover to the people below.

Her profject of 1:1 model was interior folds - structural beams - cloth to cover structural elements. Her project was a installation on the bed which has an idea of "lushness" and "warmth".

In this project I have used my 5 storied building from my last project. I shrinked my building in to 2 stories and used my top two stories of my building.

In this project my general idea was gift of giving. To show this idea I decided to connect the offices for my five occupants. By connecting these five offices I wanted to show how we can give help to eachother. which made me thnik of another idea of gifting which is gift of helping. Also my made up word was "ROUTEVE" which I forgot to mention in my A1 sheet. This word is a combination of everyday routine. I made this word because some of my previous works contained the meaning of daily routine. I tried to show this idea on the 2nd floor by having rest room and toilet as the first room you see when you go up stairs.

Final Model

After mid sem crit I I went around some web pages looking at some building for me to show my ideas and symbols as it did not give an idea from the outside.By an architect MVRDV and found this building. Water Cube Parvilion for  2012 World Expo in Yeosu, Korea which I directly derived the ideas into my building of this shapes showing at the outside to show the idea of my symbols in each floor and it's general shape looks quiet similar with my building.

 I decided to stick with my general idea of giving symbols in each stories. Because my building had a diagonal line as it going up I needed my each stories' floors' edges to be cutted by angles. so I decided to cut the each floor in to 15pieces and put them together.

I Blocked the 4th storey (study area) for it to be secured from the noise but not completetly for some natural lights

This is what it looks like when all 15 pieces are put all together. If you don't look it very closely it just looks like that I have use engraving and coloured it into dark brown...

Week6

Library

A library for uni students to read and borrow books and study.
- Small studying space.
- Thick concrete top, floors and walls for the place to be secured from noise.
- (May be) Some big windows for good lightings for students to read and study.
- Would be great to be on the top floor of the building for less noise from the floor above.

And this is my final 1:1 model. I could have made the standing on the left to be much thicker because it was a bit week to support the shelf.
and could have use the lighter mdf to make it becuase it was abit heavy.

On the fifth draw the displayment of the book is in the middle.
on the both side of the displayment, left and right you can put and stick about four to five books in there depending on thickness of the book. As well as allowing five books to stick in, having the five stories in my bookshelf was me trying to show an idea of daily almost constant life of five days in the week excepting weekends because people go to work in the weekdays and will have a different routine in the weekend as they may wake up late then usual or go to shopping etc. Out of five stories of the bookshelf the last two stories does not have any displayment giving an idea of two days of weekend (Saturaday and Sunday).

This is the design that I came up with. The book shlef will have five stories in total and have three displaying place in 5th,4th and 3rd floor. The 5th floor basically has the idea of the sustennace therefore I am going to make a 1:1 model of part of fifth floor of the circle part in the drawing.

The site that I went was cafe called Hulu Cat in Anzac Road. I wanted to design my bookshelf inside of the building as it would secure lot of noises from outdoors. I also choose the site to be a cafe because I thought it would be much nicer to read in the cafe with little bit of musics going around.

Sustanence

My idea of sustanence was about mental sustanence and came up with books that keeps our knowledge going. I alsp thought about what else do we need that relate to books and came up with the bookshelves.

Some more development and FINAL

After talking with Ian i tried to put in some subspaces but the base of the structure was too small and as there were too many prism for me make more prims I decided to make a deck for a view after waking up. The first shape of the deck was suppose to look like shower spary heading towards the water ripple to show the idea of taking shower after waking up.

Final

This is what my fianl structure looks like. I got some more prism and construct them. Also on the rightside of the deck there is a stair for the access to the deck from the structure. Say Hi for stairs and Bye make them go back.



Development

 Okay. I have decided to make some changes as my structure looked too boring. I did some scripting and made a small ball to rotate around my structure showing the daily life idea. I also lowered down the top water ripple roof because it looked like a separate thing to my structure.

My rainbow glowing bowls are trying to show the movement of the sun as well as the sun lights. Some of the bowls are below the structure showing an idea when night it goes other side of the earth.

Wall.
I wanted to put some texture for my wall and tried some textures that I had. From 3D max sculpted texture below I could have different variety of colours which was what I wanted to show the different sky colours of mornings depending on different weather everyday.

waking up

Top of the structure.
I had a bit of play with the water fall texture script and came out with the texture of water ripple rippling without waterdrops. I wanted to show water on the top of my sturcture to show an idea of waking up and going for a shower.

The wall of the structure.

I have decided to make my structure's wall to glow to give an idea of sun rising up and the strike your eye with bright light in the morning down the window. Also used the intense glow to represent realising and waking up

The bottom floor. I have made the floor to be round shape to show the daily life of people waking up. In the bottom floor I have putted the texture from library (Fabric - Blue white Gingham) basically just trying to show the fabric of the bed. Not pretty sure if I want this.
